Based in Washington, D.C., Mary Tablante joins Sparks Magazine with Asian American and Pacific Islander community involvement on the national level. She is the communications associate for the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA), a coalition focused on policy priorities such as education, health and immigration. She has freelanced for Asian American-interest publications and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.
